Ben Gibson arrived on the techno scene in 2006 with the release of the techno-futurist track “No Signify” on Jeff Mills’ Axis sub-label 6277. The same year he relocated to Tokyo all the way from his adopted home New Zealand. Elaborate, poly-rhythmic and often densely textured, the music he produced during this period contrasted heavily with a lot of the minimal techno popular at the time. Tracks like “Cutter (Pohjola)” and “Wirklichkeit” (Perc Trax) helped Ben cement his position in the international techno scene.
After relocating to Europe in 2010 Ben continues to produce music and M_Rec Ltd could not pass on the opportunity to work with this artist. Here he drops three of his tracks, aligned with three of his mind trips, filled with drones. The remix of the track “Implex” is signed by Samuli Kemppi (already a M_Rec LTD’s artist who released work on Mote Evolver, Perc Trax and Prologue). His genius makes this version unique and special, a dynamic killer with irresistible rhythmic breaks.
